The Tribal Tattoo Art

Tribal tattooing started many years ago with traditional countless tribes. These tribes had tattoos for many reasons, including spirituality, to identify families and clans, marriage, rites of passage, as stewards of totem animals and love spells and charms.

Polynesian - There are many different styles of Polynesian tattooing such as Maori, Hawaiian, Samoan, Tahitian and Marquesan. Each island has its own style, but similar characteristics of all those bold black abstracts and figurative designs.
Maori - the meanings of these tribal tattoos to celebrate important events throughout life and represent, courage and strength status.
Hawaiian - Some common forms and symbols used are fish, birds, turtles, sharks, waves, rain and sun. Hawaiian tattoos have meanings such as tribal membership, celebration, self expression and some are made just for decoration.

Native American - Tattoos Native American people have more spiritual significance and represent a connection to the land. New tattoos are tattoos of animals such as the eagle that carries great religious significance.

Tribal Tattoo Design

For centuries, tattoos symbolized by membership in groups and families, but for a few years, tattoos have become more popular. It is possible that many people have them not only for the purposes of decoration, so we must understand why they made more than thirty million people in the world this kind of self-mutilation.

The Warriors began the ancient Maori tattoo tradition painting their faces with charcoal before each battle. Then they began to make the design permanent, calling it "Moko". I

Celebrities Who Have Removed Tattoos

Tattoo Removal is a painful procedure. The process includes several zaps from a laser in order to diminish the pigment of the tattoo. In fact, most people say that tattoo removal is far more painful than actually getting a tattoo. Sometimes, the laser can leave scars too. Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Taryn Manning, Pharrell Williams and 50 Cent are just some of the celebs that have chosen to rid their bodies of such things. Angelina chose lasers while Pharrell and 50 chose a new technique. It includes taking a piece of your skin and having it grown in a lab. Almost like skin grafting. Once the skin is grown they sew it over the tattoo. Since this a long procedure Pharrell and 50 also chose to have laser removal done as well.
Taryn Manning said "It feels like when you're cooking bacon and the grease comes out of the pan and stings you" (http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/story/taryns-tattoo-removal). Angelina removed her ex-husband's name and Beyonce removed a medium sized tattoo on her thigh. If you look closely you will see that that area of Beyonce's leg is a little lighter than the rest which she covers with body makeup. When getting a tattoo one should be sure of what they want, why they're getting it and the meaning behind it. Britney Spears got a Kanji word tattooed on her bikini line, and she later found it meant something offensive.

Tattoo Sleeve's on Women

What do you all think about tattoo sleeves on women? Or even full body tats? Well as a woman I personally wouldn't get one done. I just always tend to think "how will it look when I'm 50 or 60." That's my way of determining what tattoos I want, by thinking about the meaning behind it and what it will look like when I'm older. It's ultimately your own decision, but no one stays young forever. Tattoo sleeves are beautiful on women, but I just wouldn't get one. Amy Winehouse, Daisy De La Hoya and Kat Von D are some of the celeberity women who have tattoo sleeves. They all look great. I just always tend to wonder how they will look on me on my wedding day... Daisy's sleeve has the theme of The Nightmare Before Christmas. While it is a classic movie, what does that truly symbolize? I'm sure it means something to her, I just hope she doesn't regret getting it when she's older.

Female Rappers with Tattoos: Past & Present

A good amount of female rappers have tattoos. They use their body art as a representation of themselves and their public personas. Personally, I think Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes had the best tattoos. They were not gaudy and held great meaning. Also, she had the courage to tattoo herself in the early 90's when many female rappers, like Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, were not doing such things. Nowadays, it's a norm for a female rapper to be tatted up. Trina, Nicki Minaj, Charlie Baltimore, Foxy Brown, Khia, Jackie-O and Eve all have several tattoos. Lil Kim seems to be the only one one to not have any actual tats. Jackie-O, Khia and Charlie Baltimore appear to have the biggest ones. Each woman has her own personality and individual style, but I wonder when they get older how their body art will look...

2 Female Tattoo Artists Worth A Mention

Female tattoo artists are still a rarity, especially those who own their own shops. Tattoo artists Kat Von D and Joy Fumore own their own shops; Von D's being LA Ink and Fumore's is Twelve 28 Tattoo. They call the shots. Fumore's and Von D's shop each consists of mostly women and one man. Coincidence? Before writing this post my intention was to place these two amazing tattoo artists against each other and compare their work; however, I have decided to simply put their work out there since both portfolios are amazing. Von D has tattooed Lady Gaga among other celebs. Fumore's shop is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn while Von D's is in Los Angeles, so no matter what coast you're on if you're in the market for an amazing tattoo then these women are for you.

Tattoo Spotlight: Angelina Jolie Vs. Megan Fox

Well, well, well. These two women are like gorgeous twins that were separated at birth. Now, with their obvious physical similarities aside we can concentrate on the real purpose of this entry. Their body art. I won't lie, both females have amazing tattoos, but Angelina's takes the crown in this case. Angie's tats are more original, meaningful and she didn't copy off anyone which is something that Megan Fox can't quite say.
